The biggest story on the field in Friday's 9-3 Phillies win over the Miami Marlins was that the outfield trio of Harrison Bader, Brandon Marsh and Max Kepler all homered.
But the biggest national takeaway from the game was something that took place in the stands.
When Bader followed up a 420-foot home run from Marsh with a 410-foot blast of his own in the fourth inning, it initially appeared that a dad had retrieved the ball for his young son.
But instead, a woman angry that she didn't get the ball went over and berated the father. The dad eventually took the ball out of his son's glove and gave it to the woman to appease her:

After the woman walked away with the ball, the Marlins attempted to rectify the situation by brining a prize pack over to the kid:
Sure cause I’m next to the family marlins made it right and came to the kid and his pops not only that other HR balls hit were given to the kid after the fact. pic.twitter.com/2X6wfiGlWa
While that was a nice gesture, the kid was a Phillies fan, so it's unclear how much use he had for a Marlins prize pack.
Luckily for him and his family, the Phillies organized for Bader to sign a bat and meet the kid and his family after the game:

This was a nice outcome for the kid and his family. The woman who made a scene about taking the ball away from the kid hopefully feels like the lowest of the low tonight.
