Escaped prisoner Taqwa Wilson back in custody

Taqwa Wilson is back in custody after escaping from the Delaware County Courthouse on Thursday, according to a media briefing at 11 a.m. Thursday. 


Before police found him, Wilson’s last known sighting was near 4th Street and N. Olive Street at 8:30 a.m. Thursday morning. He was caught in Broomall, Pennsylvania and placed back in custody at about 10:30 a.m.


Officials had asked residents in the area to remain sheltered during the search. 


According to online records, Wilson was scheduled to appear in court this week for several charges, including stolen property, evading an officer, driving without a license and other related offenses. 


Wilson is 22 years old and originally from Philadelphia, Action News reported 


The investigation into Wilson’s escape is ongoing.
