Update March 30 at 12:00 p.m. ET: Neither Trea Turner or J.T. Realmuto are in Sunday's lineup as the Phillies go for the sweep of the Nationals:

Realmuto's left foot is still sore, so he's out for precautionary reasons, per Rob Thomson. Realmuto could enter the game if something happened that forced Rafael Marchán to come out.

Thomson didn't seem overly concerned about Turner having experienced some right hip/back discomfort late in Spring Training.

"The reports I had were that it wasn't bad," Thomson said. "It was just a little bit tight and then it really tightened up yesterday."

Both will get treatment Sunday, with the hope being that they'll be able to go in the home opener Monday against the Colorado Rockies.

Original Story

WASHINGTON— There were pre-and-postgame injury updates Saturday.

Prior to Saturday afternoon's tilt against the Nationals, Rob Thomson provided the latest updates on the statuses of Ranger Suárez and Weston Wilson

Following a blowout victory over the NL East-rival Nationals, Thomson had a pair of other injury updates to deliver.

Trea Turner was in Sunday's initial lineup for the Phillies, hitting second. However, he was scratched with what the Phillies called "low back spasms."

"Just fielding a ground ball, his back just locked up, he just had a little bit of a spasm," Thomson said after the game. "We'll check him out tomorrow."

However, Turner said Saturday evening that this wasn't the first time he's felt discomfort.

"I had like a little hip/back thing in Spring Training, and then Thursday at the end of the game, it just got tight on me," Turner revealed. "And then treated it and then just got a little worse, little worse and then doing ground balls, it kind of crept on me."

It was the right hip/back area for Turner, who hopes that this won't turn into something that requires an injured list stint.

"Yeah, I mean, I've never had anything like this," Turner acknowledged. "So I think day-to-day — I feel way better now than I did a few hours ago. Just basically got treatment all day so I don't know a timeline or anything, so hopefully tomorrow, if not the next day."

Meanwhile, Realmuto went 0-for-4 in the second game of the season, and was replaced behind the plate by Rafael Marchán in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Realmuto fouled a ball off of his left foot in his final at-bat of the game. X-Rays were negative. Like Turner, Thomson said Realmuto will be re-evaluated Sunday morning.

"I'm not gonna put them in any type of danger at this point," Thomson said.

The Phillies will wrap up their three-game weekend set with the Nationals Sunday afternoon. We'll see whether Turner and Realmuto are ultimately in Thomson's lineup or not as the Phillies go for the sweep.
