Phillies beat writer Corey Seidman announced Monday that he's leaving NBC Sports Philadelphia:
15 years & 6,500 or so bylines later, I’ve decided to leave my role at NBC Sports Philly. Series in Houston my last for now
The constant farewells are the worst part of this industry. You never get used to it. I’ll still be covering ball in various forms tho, so not disappearing
Corey informed his fellow media members of his decision Sunday. To work at any place for 15 years and then leave on your own accord in this industry is almost unheard of, but it speaks to how good Corey is at covering the team.
It's unclear exactly what's next for him, but saying that he will "still be covering ball in various forms" leads you to believe he's not getting out of the industry altogether. Hopefully Corey will still be around in whatever capacity he wants to be.
As for NBC Sports Philadelphia, it will be interesting to see how they cover the team moving forward. They are the broadcast partner, so one would think they will continue to try to cover all games. Brooke Destra and Noah Levick both do Phillies coverage for the network, but each have other responsibilities for the company. John Clark and Spencer McKercher are also part of NBC Sports Philadelphia's Phillies coverage, but they do more video and podcast-related content.
