A driver was arrested in Lansdowne Thursday evening after a long police chase that began in Philadelphia.
The driver of a white Chevrolet Malibu led Philadelphia police through West Philadelphia, Upper Darby and into Lansdowne. Action News’s Chopper 6 was overhead and caught footage of the chase, following the driver as he sped by other cars and narrowly avoided collisions. At one point (0:59 into the video), the driver could be seen correctly using his turn signal as he made a left turn.
Philadelphia police finally swarmed the vehicle near the 100 block of E. Plumstead Ave. in Lansdowne. Once the car was stopped, police pulled the driver out of the car and he was taken into custody.
No injuries from the chase have been reported. The Malibu was towed from the scene, and the police say their investigation is ongoing. Police say the man fled from a vehicle investigation, but they have not identified the suspect or any other details behind the chase.
DelcoNow is awaiting further comment from the Upper Darby and Lansdowne police departments.
