A Media man has been charged with assaulting a Philadelphia police officer Sunday in the city in the vicinity of Lincoln Financial Field while the Eagles were playing the Washington Commanders, according to information from city police.
Eugene Dennis, 44, was arrested about 4:40 p.m. after police say he assaulted an officer during a disturbance at 1100 Pattison Ave., according to a news release from the city. No further information was immediately available.
“In total, 31 citations were issued for disorderly conduct or failure to disperse, with 30 adults and one juvenile cited,” the release stated. “Four assaults on police officers were reported, two of which resulted in arrests. Additionally, there was one stabbing, two shootings, one vandalism incident, and one report of a vehicle striking multiple pedestrians across the city.”
Dennis is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and reckless endangerment.
He was released on unsecured bail of $25,000 and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Feb. 12.
