Haverford Township will hold a public hearing Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 6 p.m. to discuss the township’s proposed Comprehensive Plan.
The Plan, which has been under development for several years, is a blueprint for both conversation and economic development in the township over a 10- to 15-year period.
The Plan aims to create an efficient and harmonious community through a variety of related approaches. Ensuring that land development is supported by necessary transportation infrastructure is expected to keep traffic manageable, while while carefully planned zoning of commercial and residential areas is expected to improve quality of life for both types of neighborhood.
The Township has received a great deal of community input on the updated draft of the Comprehensive Plan, which was published for comments late last year.
As a result, the Public Hearing announced for Feb. 3 has been postponed indefinitely, and the Board of Commissioners will not consider the latest draft for adoption.
This will be an opportunity for Township staff to explain in further detail about the process. It will be an opportunity for residents to provide verbal feedback and to have a constructive conversation about how the community moves forward together.
The Township will accept written comments on this draft through Feb. 15 at [email protected] or at 1014 Darby Road.
Subsequently, the Township will incorporate all the feedback into the next version of the Comprehensive Plan.
Once the board has a completed draft, it will hold a public hearing and consider adoption of the Comprehensive Plan.
The latest draft of the Comprehensive Plan can be found here.
