Police say driver ran red light, passenger killed
A traffic collision on the Media Bypass in Marple on Friday night resulted in the death of one passenger, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
The victim was identified as Miranda Pugliese, 30, of Atglen, Chester County.
According to police, Pugliese was a back-seat passenger in a Honda Sedan that had gone through a red light about 10:45 p.m. Friday at the Media Bypass interchange with Interstate 476 and was hit by a pickup truck.
Others involved in the crash were taken to Crozier and Lankenau hospitals with minor injuries.
Police said the driver of the sedan was distracted by his cell phone causing him to fail to stop for the red light.
Police have not released the name of the driver or indicated whether he would be charged.
