Ron Harper, the former NBAer who won five rings with the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers, had an interesting take during the Sixers' loss to the New York Knicks on Wednesday:
If I was the GM of @sixers I’m shutting Joel embiid down and tho king about shutting Paul George down too and hope we get a high lottery pick…. TANK
Now, why is that interesting? Everyone's been saying it for weeks.
Well, Ron's son is Dylan Harper, a consensus top-three pick in the 2025 NBA draft.
If the Sixers were to accommodate Mr. Harper's wishes, it would ostensibly improve their chances of keeping their top-six protected pick in this upcoming draft.
Not to speculate, but it's very conceivable that Harper's ulterior motive is to see them land high enough to have a shot at selecting his son.
We'll be scouting the young Harper here at On Pattison in the near future.
