An Upper Darby man faces charges after Upper Darby police say he fled from officers and was then found to be in possession of cocaine and marijuana.
According to a criminal complaint, Officer Nicolas Mariconi and Officer Daniel Connell were on patrol at about 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 5, in the area of the 7200 block of Guilford Road when they saw Zakur Damir Williams, age 30.
The officers attempted to speak to Williams and he fled, according to the criminal complaint. A short foot chase ensued, and Williams was apprehended without further incident, police said.
Williams was found to be in possession of a substance later identified as marijuana, a substance later identified as cocaine and over 70 pills later identified as Xanax.
Williams is charged with three felony counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, one misdemeanor count of evading arrest and several misdemeanor drug offenses.
He is being held at the Delaware County Jail after failing to post bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Feb. 21.
