DeVonta Smith becomes fifth player to win Heisman, National Title and Super Bowl

DeVonta Smith became the fifth player in history to win the Heisman Trophy, a College Football National Title and a Super Bowl when the Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 Sunday.

He joins Marcus Allen, Tony Dorsett, Reggie Bush and Charles Woodson as the only players to accomplish all three feats. 

Smith had four catches for 69 yards in his second Super Bowl appearance, hauling in a 46-yard touchdown pass from Jalen Hurts late in the third quarter that was essentially the dagger:

Smith won the Heisman Trophy in 2020 at Alabama, catching 117 passes for 1,856 yards and 23 touchdowns. 

He won a pair of National Championships at Alabama, the first of which came in the January 2018 game where Hurts was famously benched at halftime in favor of Tua Tagovailoa. Smith caught the game-winning touchdown from Tagovailoa in overtime to defeat Georgia: 

If that wasn't enough, Smith had 12 catches for 215 yards and three touchdowns in a 52-24 win over Ohio State in January of 2021, despite not playing in the second half: 

The Eagles have built a culture of winning by drafting a ton of players who have won at the collegiate level. Smith is among those, and he's now helped the Eagles to hoist their second Lombardi Trophy.
