There were travel delays and a massive evacuation by no injuries after a SEPTA train caught fire in Ridley Park on Thursday, Feb. 6.
The train was heading to Delaware when services were halted near the Crum Lynne station due to the fire about 6:15 p.m. Thursday, according to information reported by Fox 29. About 350 people were evacuated from the train’s six cars.
SEPTA sent buses for the passengers and firefighters had the incident under control by 7:20 a.m.
Normal service for Amtrak and SEPTA resumed during the early a.m. hours of Friday, Feb, 7, according to statements from the respective agencies.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
