According to U.S. Marshals, a man who allegedly killed his grandfather in New Jersey was arrested inside a Villanova University parking garage Wednesday afternoon.

U.S. Marshals said Shawn Moir, 26, was wanted for homicide and related charges in connection with a fatal stabbing in Vineland on Tuesday night. Moir fled the scene after allegedly killing his grandfather with a kitchen knife.

Around 1 p.m. Wednesday, members of the U.S. Marshals Eastern Pennsylvania Violent Crimes Fugitive Task Force discovered a black Chevy Tahoe inside a Villanova University parking garage on Ithan Ave. Moir allegedly stole the Tahoe from his grandfather.

Not long after the discovery, Moir was arrested and taken to the Radnor Police Department for processing.

Moir is not a student at the university, per a statement released to CBS News Philadelphia by Villanova University's director of public relations.

"Earlier today, U.S. Marshals arrested an unaffiliated individual in the I-1 parking garage on Ithan Avenue. The person, a suspect in an off-campus incident in New Jersey, was taken into custody by federal agents without incident," the statement read.

"Law enforcement has since left the scene, and an all-clear was issued. There is no threat to the Villanova University community. This matter is unrelated to last week's incidents on campus."

Villanova University has had an uncharacteristically harrowing week. On Aug. 21, the university received a report of an active shooter that sent students and staff into lockdown and sent law enforcement from three counties to Villanova's campus. That report ended up being a hoax; there was never an active shooter, and no one was injured. Still, the community was shaken.

"Villanova University has seen significant law enforcement activity over the past couple weeks," Robert Clark, supervisory deputy with the U.S. Marshals Service, said in a statement to CBS News Philadelphia.

"We are very pleased to have effected a safe arrest in a manner that avoided drawing student attention."
