Trea Turner recorded five hits and Jesús Luzardo turned in one of his most dominant outings of the season Wednesday afternoon as the 20-hit Phillies completed a sweep of the Seattle Mariners by virtue of an 11-2 win.
Julio Rodríguez got the scoring started with a solo home run in the top of the first inning, his 25th of the season:

In the home half of the first inning, Trea Turner led off with a triple against Luis Castillo, with Kyle Schwarber then plating him on a sacrifice fly. Schwarber set a new career-high with 105 RBIs on the sac fly:

Bryson Stott stayed hot in the fourth inning by doubling off the wall to bring home Harrison Bader:

Not only was it a nice day for Bader, but the outfield rotation — which didn't include Nick Castellanos Wednesday — got production from Max Kepler in the form of a solo shot in the fourth inning:

Kepler entered the day hitting .281 with a .741 OPS in August, and built on that with a 3-for-5 performance. He's showing signs of life after what had largely been a disastrous campaign until this month.
Meanwhile, Luzardo also continued what's been a strong month of August. He tied his season-high with 12 strikeouts Wednesday afternoon, limiting the Mariners to just three hits and the one run over six innings. Luzardo has a 3.00 ERA over four August starts, a very welcome development after he posted a 5.33 ERA between June and July.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, the Phillies tacked on five insurance runs, with Stott, Turner, Schwarber and Bryce Harper all driving in runs:

With a six-run lead, José Alvarado made his first appearance since returning from his 80-game performance-enhancing drug suspension. Alvarado retired Cole Young, Randy Arozarena and Cal Raleigh in order in the top of the eighth inning, finishing off the scoreless inning by striking out the AL MVP candidate. Alvarado received cheers from almost all of the 38,331 fans at Citizens Bank Park for the matinee:

Shortly after Turner reached on an infield single in the bottom of the eighth inning, Kyle Schwarber unloaded for his National League-leading 45th home run of the season, tying him with Mike Schmidt (1979) and Ryan Howard (2009) for the eighth-most in a single season in Phillies hisotry:

With the win, the Phillies improve to 74-53. They are temporarily six games up in the NL East on the New York Mets, who will play the Nationals in D.C. this evening.
The Phillies will be off Thursday, before they welcome in the Nationals Friday for a three-game weekend set.
