The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that the bridge carrying Glen Riddle Road over Chrome Run Creek has reopened following the completion of a $1.2 million project to replace the 92-year-old structure in Middletown Township, Delaware County.
Work began in April 2024 to replace the bridge with wider lanes and shoulders to improve travel and safety for the estimated 4,415 motorists who use this bridge daily. Other improvements include new signing, pavement markings, drainage, and guiderail.
Richard E. Pierson Construction Co., Inc. of Woodstown, New Jersey, was the general contractor on the project, which was financed with 100 percent state funds.
