Erin Schoneveld cited as advocate for student athletes
A Haverford College professor was honored this month for her role as an advocate for student athletes.
The Faculty Athletic Representative Association has named Erin Schoneveld as its 2024 NCAA Division III Newcomer of the Year. Schoneveld is an associate professor of East Asian Languages and Cultures and Visual Studies at Haverford.
CAA legislation requires every campus to designate an individual to serve as FAR. Duties of the FAR are determined by each school, but can generally characterized as serving as a liaison between the institution and the athletics department, and also as a representative of the institution in conference and NCAA affairs.
Schoneveld was a two-time national championship rower at Brown University and was inducted into the Brown University Athletics Hall of Fame in 2022.
