Delaware County Council is accepting applications for positions on several boards in the county government.
There are four vacancies on the Sustainability Commission.
The Delaware County Sustainability Commission provides review and recommendations to County Council and certain county departments, recommending best environmental and energy practices; identifying county environmental and energy policies and recommending ways to promote and educate about the county’s environmental and energy initiatives; identifying and recommending voluntary actions, projects, and programs for municipalities, businesses, non-profits, and other partners to implement county environmental and energy policies; creating, reviewing and providing ongoing input into a Delaware County Sustainability Action Plan; and recommending Triple Bottom Line related actions, projects, and programs to County Council for implementation.
The members of the Commission are certain designated members of county government and residents of Delaware County appointed by the Delaware County Executive Director.
The following vacancies are open for application for Delaware County residents appointed by the Delaware County Executive Director:
• Two representatives with experience in environmental justice or from a historically marginalized
community.
• One representative with expertise and experience in the field of energy efficiency and/or green building practices.
• One representative of the general public.
