A house fire in Yeadon overnight Sunday into Monday left a firefighter injured and two families displaced.

Units from the Yeadon Fire Company responded to a call just after midnight Mondy to a duplex in the 700 block of West Cobbs Creek Ave.

According to radio traffic, the fire started in the basement heater and spread to all three floors.

No one was inside the side of the house that caught fire, but a family was inside the other half of the building at the time, fire officials said.

Officials said one fire fighter was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and that the families were being assisted by the American Red Cross.
