As the days grow cold and the nights grow long, the annual Rose Tree Park Festival of Lights returns this week to bring some holiday cheer.
The event, sponsored by the Delaware County Department pf Parks and Recreation, begins Thursday, Dec. 5 and runs through Jan. 4 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. nightly.
Dec. 5, 7, 8, 14 and 15 at the park will be “Delco Fare and Flair Nights,” featuring local food trucks, vendors and entertainment.
Dozens of illuminated trees and lit displays draw visitors back every year to walk in the winter wonderland and linger in the festive atmosphere. A Delco tradition for more than four decades, The Festival of Lights begins with a Tree Lighting Ceremony at 5 p.m. featuring Delaware County Council, food trucks, a visit from Santa. And choral music by the Springton Lake Middle School Grades 7 and 8 Select Choir.
Admission and parking are free, with handicapped-accessible parking available.
Rose Tree Park is at 1671 N Providence Road, Media.
