Investigators from the Delaware County District Attorney’s office have charged a George W. Hill Correctional Facility inmate with possessing multiple homemade weapons in recent months.
Charges were filed against Rashan M. Haymes, 26, of the 1200 block of Marlyn Roadm Philadelphia, according to reporting in the Delaware County Times.
The first incident occurred Sept. 14 during a search at the prison, when 4-inch piece of metal sharpened to a point with a cloth handle was located, officials said.
On Nov. 9, Haymes was again found to possess weapons., according to the Times.
After a search of the cell, three pieces of a broken broom, wrapped in a shirt were found inside a commissary bag. The items were sharpened and could be used as weapons.
